I am not a fisherman but I have had many opportunities to watch them. There is a clear sense of purpose and mission in their demeanor - especially when they are heading out in the first light of dawn. If you are close enough to see their faces, you would see hope, anticipation and maybe even a little excitement.
This photo was taken at Sakakawea State Park north of Bismarck, North Dakota, on a pristine morning redolent with possibilities. And I’m wondering if there isn’t more to this picture that meets the eye?
Here’s what the image makes me think: What if we met the day the way a fisherman does? It’s not “Do I have to get up?” “Do I have to get dressed?” or “But I’m not a morning person . . . !”
Instead, it’s “I can’t wait to see what opportunities another days brings!” Maybe I’ve just described you?
