02-13-17 We Are Smaller Than We Think

I am on the run this morning, so I'll keep this short. The photo you are looking at was taken yesterday at Big Basin Redwoods State Park in California. The trees are close to 200 feet in height and somewhere around 1500 years in age. These were born right around the time the Roman Empire fell and the so-called Dark Ages of Europe began.

And to think that some people cut these giants down to make fences and decks . . . .
