This is one of my favorite travel photos ever, though it certainly doesn’t have “travel” written all over it. It was taken at Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain in July, 2003. There’s much that I could say, though mainly I’ll let the photo speak for itself - and I suspect that what it says will vary depending on how you feel about people kissing passionately in public and about people taking pictures of people kissing passionately in public.
In defense of the photographer, I will say that there were hundreds of people milling about the promenade where I was. I will also say that these three were part of a much larger group of young Spaniards on an outing. Scouts of some type? (Notice the scarves around their necks.)
Almost twenty years have passed since I took this photo. I have to wonder how the lives of these three have played out over the last two decades . . . .
