A normally reticent subject, Ibby, our middle granddaughter, was more than willing to let me photograph her yesterday. She was even willing to take my directions. I think the difference was that she was wearing a beautiful dress that had been handcrafted by Mary, her grandma on her mother’s side. It was all the magic I needed to get a comfortable, natural subject.
I don’t photograph people all that much any more but it is a blessing to have the chance to do so with some of my favorites.
