I’m worried that after 4 posts in a row I’m starting to look like the old guy who says, “Let me show you pictures of my grandchildren” and won’t let you say “No!” I’ll admit that I have hundreds of photos I haven’t shared with you but I promise that I’m done after this one. For a while . . . .
Why do I call this picture “The Big Tree”? The answer is that when Glenyce Jane was very small, I suggested that when we were all out in the Black Hills at the same time, I could take photos of her (and eventually her sisters) by a venerable old oak tree on the Brass property, which is just over a couple of hills from our cabin.
Last year the tradition was broken due to COVID. But we have revived it. And this photo was easier to get than I thought it would be. But I’ll admit that the secret to success here isn’t my skill. It is that their dad (our oldest son) is mugging behind the camera. It’s good to have help in situations like this.
