This photo is a good example of being in the right place at the right time. The place is Gig Harbor, Washington, which is a perfect little town located not too far from Seattle.
I'd like you to believe that I worked hard over several days to get the right conditions for this photo. But I didn't. Frankly, I wandered out of the hotel my wife and mother-in-law were staying in and snapped this photo. The sky, the fall colors and the nearly mirror smooth water are what make this photo worth looking at. I'd generally rather be good than lucky. But all photographers need a little luck from time to time. . . .
