Sometimes when I am out taking photos, I am not looking for a good subject. Instead, I am looking for good light, which is bound to make any subject more photogenic. Such is the case with this lavender bee balm basking both in morning dew and in good morning light.
I have thousands of flower photos in my collection and I sometimes think, "Another flower photo! Really!!!!???" But one more won't hurt anything, will it?
Besides, I could walk by this patch of bee balm at Lakota Lake in the Black Hills on any other day and not have all of the ingredients that come together in this photo: a good subject well posed, good composition, and, of course, good light.

By the way, if you read the 1 line summary for today's post, you should know that Duvall didn't mention bee balm in the bizarrely fascinating movie "Apocalypse Now." He really said . . .
