11-27-15 A Very Special Group
By Scott Shephard
Posed family portraiture is not my forte. But when my mother-in-law Glenyce asks for a group photo of her seven great-grandchildren, I am more than willing to oblige.
All of the adults in the room (who were working hard behind me) expected that this would be much more difficult to pull off than it was. And, aside from the fact that smiling naturally on cue takes time, maturity and practice, all of the little ones did well. And Glenyce is perfect, of course. :-)
Technical Note: I used the practice of taking several photos of this same pose and taking the best faces and combining them. As long as the subjects don't move too much, you can get away with it. Can you find the three transposed faces in this shot? The secret to making this easier is basic knowledge of Photoshop and having your camera on a tripod.
