09-05-14 Big
By Scott Shephard
People who know my sailing habits would realize that for me to be out on the water, let alone awake, when the sun goes down over Lake Oahe is an exception. I am certainly a morning person.
But on this day, I had just made my way downriver from Mission Creek (see yesterday's photo) and I thought it would be nice to be out on the water just once this summer to see the sun go down. And besides, the days are shorter now and the sun goes down a little after 8 in central South Dakota. I can't go to bed that early!
Incidentally, my post title refers to many things. The universe is big. The sun is big. Lake Oahe is big. And clouds are big.
By comparison, I and my boat, Wandering Star, are very, very small. But I am quite comfortable with this hierarchy. . . .
