This was really just a snapshot but it turned out to be my favorite photo of my mom. I had my camera, she was sitting in good light and when I brought my camera up for a photo, she surprised me by giving me this wonderful, natural look instead of saying, "No."

Now that I think of it, my mother rarely said "no" to me in anything I did. Of course, I never voiced my appreciation of this, in large part because I didn't understand the value.
