24.10.27 Pretty Good Timing

By Scott Shephard

Capturing good colors in fall foliage is sometimes more circumstantial than intentional. When I launched my drone over our neighborhood, my original intent was to photograph new road and house construction just south of this scene, which has us looking NW towards Lake Kampeska and beyond.

As often happens when I am taking pictures, though, I saw something that I wasn’t really looking for - the amazing red color of the maple trees. And the yellow trees, against the brown, dormant lawns weren’t so bad either.

I think that fall colors are better this year than in others. Or is that what we say in these parts when we take the time to really SEE what is around us . . . ?
