I take my camera equipment with me every time I go on my sailing trips to Lake Oahe but I rarely take photos. Laziness? Maybe. Inability to see new things? Certainly. I think that familiarity is the photographer's foe.

When I took this photo a couple of days ago, I did it mainly because I was thinking that I'd been sailing for three days and I hadn't taken my camera out of the bag. I was also thinking of two people I encountered at the marina at the beginning of this trip who either said, "I like seeing your photos" or "Take some photos and share them." It seems clear to me that among the Spring Creek Marina crowd I am probably best known as "the guy who goes away from the marina a lot" and "the guy with the camera."

So here's a photo. Yes, it's the same old moon and the same old earth and sky. And, for my facebook friends, it's almost the same old photo you saw a few days ago. So perhaps "old" is today's theme.

Old is OK. Like an 18 year old Scotch. Or an aging sailor enjoying a serene anchorage at the dusky end of yet another glorious day . . . .
