A red rose is a symbol of true love. I'm not sure what a red tulip suggests. Spring?

Right now, as I look out over my computer to our back yard, I see grass that is greener than it was last week and I see buds on the trees that aspire to be full-fledge leaves

And somewhere in the cold, moist soil of my wife's flower garden, there are tulips waiting to be reborn.
