03-26-15 Real Blue (HDR)

As I recall, the temperature on this windless afternoon on Lake Oahe in South Dakota was somewhere around 90F. Some might say this could be Hell.  For me, of course, floating comfortably in the middle of the lake on our sailboat Wandering Star with Deb keeping me company, this could easily have been Paradise.

Because it was so hot and because the fish weren't biting, there weren't other boats out on this particular afternoon. With our motor turned off, the silence was palpable and overwhelming.
